Faced with the challenge to compel young high school students and their frustrated parents to read informative content, and to encourage them to consider social sciences as an exciting and purposeful field of study, Amgad, alongside the passionate Farah Souri from the Arab Council of Social Sciences, endeavoured to create an attractive, readable awareness campaign.
Starting from Farah’s MS Word document, the challenge was to create aid material that appeals to the younger audience and engages them while using simple formats and mediums that Farah can manage and operate on her own. Darn! There goes my smoke machines idea.
Starting from the start, we had to educate ourselves and our audience about social sciences, asking the common questions and finding out the answers.
We broke down the information in a digestible format to visually communicate the data.
In order to maximize the exposure of the visual material, we designed an accordion-brochure as a leave-behind after the seminars, that also served as a poster when two were hung next to each other, providing Farah with a quick and efficient way to set up the seminars.
Along with the offline slide-show presentation, we also designed interactive presentations on Prezi for cool camera movement effects through the infographic.
Needless to say, the project was a complete success and Farah got promoted 🙂 Working after hours and long nights had finally paid off.
